Wind Caves Arch
This interesting arch is located in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. This is the largest state park in the state of California. It is located east of Escondido and is accessed by several roads including SR 78 which goes from Escondido, through the Park, and on to SR 86. This arch is in a small area of eroded sandstone called the Wind Caves. In the eastern part of the Park, turn south from SR 78 onto Split Mountain Rd. Fork right onto an un-paved road, Fish Creek Wash, past Split Mountain to the trail head. It is about a half mile hike to the Wind Caves.
