Gilbert Douglas, Through "sheer power of will" becomes The Crusader. He taps into a force he calls "The Spirit of America" becoming incredibly strong, agile and resilient. As Gilbert gains mass, the costume appears (in a fireworks-like display) seemingly by magic. Crusader is rumored to have been around since 1776, appearing whenever America needed her favorite son. The existance of another Crusader in the distant future only fuels this rumor. The Crusader is a founding member of the Superiors.
