Pete Daniel is a member of the law enforcement group called G.O.D.S. or Gods of Venus. The groups super powered members were given their powers by project superior. When they reach a certain age, or they are dying, they pass their powers on to somebody else.
Pete had become a founding resident of Space Adventure City, so he travelled to the present day and selected young Sela Carson to wield the power in this day and age. He gave her the name PETRA and remains in contact with her as advisor and mentor.
