Sela Carson was camping in Oregon when she was confronted by PETE DANIEL, a man from the far future. Pete wore the distinctive uniform and wielded the power of one of the GODS OF VENUS, a super-powered cadre devoted to combating evil. When they reach a certain age, or they are dying, they seek out another worthy of the power and title and pass it on to them
Pete had become a founding resident of Space Adventure City, so he travelled to the present day and selected young Sela to wield the power in this day and age. He gave her the name PETRA and remains in contact with her as advisor and mentor. Sela lives in Washington state, while Pete serves as president of Space Adventure City,( in the wild area built by Sorcerer and christened TUTUCU
