Scorpio is DANE HUNTER, brother of Zodiac founding member JIM HUNTER (Orion). The brothers shared a bond to an incredible energy force which they could manipulate in the form of devastating blasts from their hands. The more the power is used, the more it grows in force Unfortunately, a side effect is the loss of mental stability. Jim always managed to reign it in, retaining his full faculties and becoming the leader of the Zodiac. Dane didn't suffer from the same sense of responsibility. He adopted the identity of SCORPIO and became a rogue GLEA agent, feared the galaxy over for his murderous behavior. Dane even slew his own brother, then went on to murder the remaining Zodiac founders.
The last one to die was Carter Sol, who managed to nearly tear Danes' arm off before his demise. A badly wounded Dane was saved by a benevolent alien race ( the "Good Samaritans" of space, ) who gave him a hastily devised prosthetic arm. He has kept a low profile lately while he recruited a new Zodiac team composed of some of the vilest scum in the galaxy.
