SPONGE

The Sponge was living a normal existance until the day the SORCERER crossed his path. He became one of Sorcerers' experiments in the quest to create super-powered champions of justice. He instead became the first in a long line of monsters. He became a founding member of the ODYSSEY team, along with ODYSSEUS, ILIAD, and the SORCERER himself.

The time-travelling heroes eventually settled in the present day, and ILIAD and SPONGE became members of the SUPERIORS. The entire Odyssey team now reside in Space Adventure City in the other-dimensional realm that Sorcerer made, TUTUCU. They serve as the Council, overseeing the individual realms, but not in an intrusive manner. Tutucu remains an assemblage of sovereign city-states. This SPONGE has no connection to the original SPONGE, a monstrous creature that exists in the future.
