This shuttlepod is much bigger inside than outside, which is accomplished using an unknown technology. It is equipped with temporal displacement drive, a stealth device and organic circuitry, but has no visible power or propulsion systems. Further specifications are unknown. The term "temporal displacement drive" suggests that this pod itself is capable of traveling through time, which it appears to be quite a common feature of future vessels. Even if it were not full of scorches, the structure and hull of the pod with its extendable panels look very old-fashioned, as if they wouldn't belong into the 31st century, but rather into the 22nd century. It may have been purposely laid out to look like that (especially since it's larger on the inside anyway), but in that case it should rather imitate the look of an actual 22nd century vessel, which it obviously doesn't. It is probably operated with cloak anyway. In addition, the pod type 2 (below) has largely, but not exactly the same features, pointing to a design lineage. Considering that the time pod from the 26th century has a very unusual look, and the two designs of the 29th century are still reminiscent of 24th century ships, there is no plausible design evolution of future ships. |

Nothing is known about this design, except that it looks similar and should be from the same time as type 1. Archer and T'Pol spot the vessel on Daniels's display device, but T'Pol remarks that this is not the one they are looking for (the one in the launch bay, type 1). The dorsal shape is different on the two pods, according to T'Pol. |

This time pod is in use in the 26th century and was stolen by professor Berlinghoff Rasmussen. This doesn't have to be a Federation design, but it can be only implicitly assumed from statements in the episode. The full-scale mock-up seen in the episode is a redress of the Nenebek. But since it bears no resemblance to anything used by the Federation in the 24th century, it could be alien as well. |

Yesterdays.
Launched in the 2370s and falling under the jurisdiction of the Department of Temporal Investigations these ships act as a kind of "temporal search and rescue vessels". Names given in the text are DTI Thucydides, DTI Durant, DTI Herodotus, and the lost DTI Livy
These
one man ships are operated by the 29th century Timefleet (which seems to
have grown from a merger of the DTI and Starfleet - a Temporal Integrity
Comission is also mentioned). The class name is from the LUG RPG sourcebook
All Our Yesterdays, which also lists the following ships U.S.S. Epoch,
U.S.S. Baktun, U.S.S. Century, U.S.S. Eternity, U.S.S. Generation, U.S.S.
Kapla and U.S.S. Millennium.

The LUG RPG sourcebook
All Our Yesterdays, gives the class name as Polarity (a slightly altered
timeline?), claims that these ships are operated by Timefleet, has an
illustration that looks nothing like the actual ship seen on screen; on the
plus side it does list the U.S.S. Polarity and the U.S.S.
