Q: Have you been to a sci-fi convention?
A: I went to one years ago held near LAX. It was AMAZING. I would love to do more of them because the fan base is INCREDIBLY loyal and we all need that team spirit these days!
Q: I understand you had your own radio show at one time, what was that like?
A: It was a blast. I had total freedom to do what I wanted, subject-wise. I was only a teenager then and would really love it now because I have so much more to say!
Q: What was it like working with John Candy?
A: Funny you should ask: It was one of the best working experiences of my life because I bonded so instantly with John. He reminded me of my baby brother and I had that instant connection. He was so sweet and funny. Funnier in person than even on screen. We played cards a lot on that trip- we were on a bus for days on end. And I called him "Mr. Biscuits" because we bet with crackers instead of poker chips or money.
Q: Could explain more about the Fitness Against Drugs you co-founded?
A: Basically, it's about having options that are healthy.
Q: What's it like to be Editor and founder of Ms. Fitness Magazine?
A: Cool. I was at the dentist's yesterday and the girl at the reception desk was new and I had never met her. She freaked out when she realized that I was the FITCAMP founder and Ms. Fitness competition host. She told the other women in the office, "You have no idea, this woman's a pioneer!". It kind of brought home the ipact things like that have. Very cool.
Q: When you took the antidote for the red dust, was it as bad as the other visitors proclaimed it to be?
A: There was so much hoopla about that. Not a big deal.
Q: What was it like working along side of Frank Ashmore?
A: He's a sweetheart. I hope he's doing well.
Q: How do you handle your non-email fan mail? Were can we send you fan mail?
A: Send fan mail to: Greta Blackburn c/o
15030 Ventura Blvd. Ste 471, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403
Q: Do you enjoy traveling all over from place to place, getting people in shape?
A: I LOVE It! It si soooo rewarding and just a blast. First of all, I love to travel. Secondly, I love fitness. It's the best. I just came back from my big FITCAMP in Malibu last week. 40 women from all over the world. An amazing group. Working on a fantastic FITCAMP Las Vegas to coincide with our televised Ms. Fitness USA finals. That camp will take place Sept. 11-14. Doing a Northern Claifornia camp the following weekend Sept. 18-21. Probably going to do a Maui camp first part of next year. All of the camps except Malibu- which is always the first week in June- are co-ed.
Q: Do you have any hobbies?
A: Hmmm. Fitness is my hobby. But if you don't count that, I'd say photography is a hobby I need to get back to. And I have a band, "Bitch Kitty" which I have been neglecting.
Q: Being on the side of the Fifth Column, how would you like to see the visitors end up?
A: Let me think about that one.
Q: With much talk of V going around, do you think it has a chance of coming back?
A: Absolutely! We need escapism and fantasy now more than when the show originally ran. It's a no-brainer!
Q: Have you been asked if you would like to return to V?
A: Not Yet!
Q: Where you pleased with your role in V?
A: Would like it to be bigger next time, of course. But it was a joy to work on.
Q: In V, do you wish they had done more with your character?
A: Yes!
Q: What was it like to work with the cast of 48 hours?
A: 48 Hours was a quick in and out thing. With "V" I was on call for months and there was some on-going-ness. Plus, there was the whole nudity thing with 48 Hours and that was nerve-wracking. Both were great but had very , very different energetics.
Q: I remember you from 48 hours, how was it working on that movie compared to V?
A: In the big hotel scene I got to hook back up with a buddy from acting school in NY, James Dolan. We called him Earth back at school and seeing him on the set was really cool. James Remar is a babe and was very cool. One of the hottest guys around. Sonny Landham is a sweetie but pretty intense. Nolte was aloof. I met Eddiie Murphy on the set one day when I was doing a wardrobe check and he was almost shy. Great cast.
