Howard A. Brossman, 88, of Godfrey Street, Rehrersburg, died Aug. 15 at 8:28 p.m. in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Lebanon, where he had been a patient for three days. He was the husband of Lizzie (Zeller) Brossman. Born in Stouchsburg, he was a son of the late Charles E. and Sarah M. (Deck) Brossman. Brossman had been employed for 13 years as a bee inspector by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture. He previously worked as a carpenter for H.K. Hollenbach and Frank Dieffenbach, both of the Rehrersburg area, and was a self-employed farmer for many years. He was a member of Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg. Brossman was a 1932 graduate of Womelsdorf High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Brossman is also survived by three daughters: Dolores J. (Brossman) Spriggs, Zephyrhills, Fla.; Sarah J. Brossman, Centerport; and Kathy A (Brossman) Miller, Rehrersburg; and four sons: Paul D., Rehrersburg; Allen L., Hamburg; Clarence L., Strausstown; and Carl S., Leesport. There are also 15 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Hill Funeral Home, Rehrersburg. Burial will be in Altalaha Church Cemetery, Rehrersburg.
