This data base contains the direct ancestors, their siblings, and their spouses of the Spoon family of Findlay, Ohio. It begins with the ten children of Grover Cleveland Spoon and Mary Helen Street and is presented in pedigree chart format. You can trace the Spoon/Spohn line back through Wyandot County, Ohio; New York; Perry County, Pennsylvania; Berks County, Pennsylvania; Maryland; and ultimately to the German state of Baden. In addition to the Spoon/Spohn line, it includes the following lines: Street, Norris, Sterling, Rinebarger, and others.
Some of the more notable individuals include two direct ancestors (along with several brothers) who fought in the American Civil War; Solomon Spohn (Spoon) who moved his large family from Perry County, Pennsylvania to Wyandot County, Ohio by way of New York between 1830 and 1841; and his father, Melchior Spohn (Spoon), who served in the Berks County, Pennsylvania militia during the American Revolutionary War.
