Your desktop has turned black after you've installed Snapshot SE
Tip version: 10.2
Modified date: 13 May 2001
Software versions: Not applicable
If you install Snapshot SE software included with some of the Generations packages, it automatically installs the "Walladay" desktop manager. This program lets you take selected images from Snapshot SE and display them as your desktop manager.
But if you haven't opened any images and set the program to use them as wallpaper, the next time the Walladay program changes the desktop, it will give you a blank black background (say that fast five times in a row). Some people are disconcerted when their Windows background becomes this black screen.
So one option is to open up some genealogy (or other) images in Snapshot and follow the various options to use them as wallpaper.
But if you don't want to do that and don't want to remove Snapshot, just call up the settings for the Walladay program by left clicking on the little icon in the system tray at the bottom of the screen. The control panel lets you choose the time interval for changing the desktop, some other items, and most importantly for this - turning it off. Just press the rightmost button at the bottom of the settings panel. This will turn it off and it will stay off (it will be removed from the Startup folder so it won't bother you again).
