Marking tricks from Relationship and Place Lists

The Relationships List and the Place List are lists which have multiple sections separated by categories shown in bold type.
The relationship is broken up according to the degree of relationship, i.e., 1st cousin, 2nd cousin, Half 4th cousin, etc. You may mark all of the individuals in a given category by simply clicking on the marking column (left-most column) for the line describing the relationship.
A similar procedure is used for the Place List. If you want to mark those people in your database who are, say, born or christened in Minneapolis, Minnesota, first create a place list with only the birth and christening events included. Then scroll down the list to Minneapolis, Minnesota, and click in the marking column on the line with that place location.
Note that the place list takes a literal approach to locations - "Minneapolis, Minnesota," "Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota," "Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota," "Minneapolis, MN" are all listed as separate locations in the place list. So consistency in your place names will pay off in the long run.
