Notes for Ole Olson (Gåserud)
The godparents and witnesses at his christening were Randi [?] Grimsgaard, Niels Berg, Peder Eidal, Amund Wegge and Kari Eidal.

Ole Olsen and Ingebor Christensdatter Tongrbres [Kongbret?] were betrothed on 4 May 1733 and were married on 30 September 1733.

The Christensmoen farm was more commonly known as Hansamoen and is called Bringerud on the modern map. It is a couple of kilometers south of Nes in Hallingdal.

See the discussion under Tollef, the first farmer at Grorud, about the derivation of the "rud" suffix for farm names. The first part of the farm name means geese, so the name roughly translates as Goose clearing or Goose farm. The geese referred to were undoubtedly those of the Myklevatn (lake), where the farm was located. Gran states that he came to Gåserud in 1760.55 His probate is quite lengthy, b. 10, pp. 444-451.184
