She was called Dorteha in the 1895 Minnesota census. The Social Security Death Index (SSDI)1 has her last residence as West Linn, Clackamas, Oregon (Zip 97068).

"Ida Kjestad

Private family funeral services for Ida Dorthea Kjestad, 86, of Gladstone, Ariz., were held Sunday, March 15, at Cochran's Sunset Chapel with the Rev. Frank Cothrell officiating. Other funeral services and burial were held later that week in Green Acres Memorial Park in Scottsdale, Arizona. She died March 15 in a Gladstone hospital.
Ida Kjestad was the daughter of Peter and Dorthea Sletten and were residents of the Linden and Madelia area. Her husband, John, was a building contractor in partnership with the late Lauritz Fladstulen. She moved to the West Coast area in 1937, following the death of her husband in 1936. She then lived in California, Oregon and Arizona.
She is survived by her son, Clare Kjestad of Phoenix; three daughters, Bernice Stever of Scottsdale, Ariz., Inez Rogers of West Linn, Oregon, and Ruth Clinton of Canby, Oregon; three sisters, Rachel Martin, Portland, Ore.; Mabel Podgasky, Mankato; Elna Arthur, Nicollet; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Sophia Larson and one brother, Oscan, and one infant son.
Other relatives in the Madelia area are the Thormodson familes, which are cousins; nephews, the Overlie brothers; niece, Annie Overlie of Luther Memorial Home; and brother-in-law Jack Larson, also of the Luther Memorial Home.
She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Madelia."59

He was baptised as "John Raderik." The witnesses at the baptism were P. Laingen, S. Kjestad, Regine Laingen, and Anne Olson. He was confirmed on 28 Oct 1900 at the Linden Lutheran Church. He was attending school at the time of the 1900 census, and was working on the home farm in 1910.

They were married at the Linden Lutheran Church and the witnesses were Engwal Olson and Clara Kjestad.

They were living in Madelia at the time of the 1920 census.

Buried in Lot 79 of the Linden Lutheran Cemetery. The records of the burial had the birthdate as 27 March.

His death record confirms his parents as Torsten Kjestad and Rosa Ekle.
