Notes for Carl Edward (Spouse 1)
He is called Charles in the 1880 U.S. census. They were married by Rev. Grant Stewart of the Hermosa Methodist Episcopal Church.

Their address in 1907 when Carl was born was 1217 41st. Court. That is probably equivalent to the address for 1910, given the street numbering reform in Chicago in 1909.

The 1910 Chicago city directory gives his address as 2124 N. 41st Ave., but the address where he was living at the time of that year's census was 2124 N. 41st Court. The census states that he was a clerk at the Harvester Works at that time.

They were living at 2133 N. Kedvale Ave. at the time of Alice May's death.

Possibly the Edward Knutson, age 52 at the 1920 census, born IL., (McHenry Co., 234 Railroad Ave., Woodstock, ED 125, s. 4, l. 19). wife Bessie, age 42, b. Norway, nat., s. Edward, age 16, b. IL, s Harold 4 y 6 mo., b. IL, William Towner, boarder, age 17, b. Michigan. That CANNOT work unless Harold is another child of Alice May's check the Chicago birth records. Also, the age is 8 years too high.

Another possibility is Edward C. Knutson, age 44, b. IL, at 88 North Arthur, Galesburg, Knox Co., IL (ED 172, s. 8, l. 91) wife Hulda D., age 52, b. IL. But note that they have no children with them and Edward C. would be only 13 so he should be with them.

Possibly the Carl E. Knutson of 6503 W. Raven [41-21] in the 1937 Lurie Index of Chicago, with wife Catherine M.
