Notes for Andrew (Spouse 1)
The godparents and witnesses at his christening, as Andreas, were Johannes Wieland, Johannes Tarnutzer, Barbara Jaklin, Barbar Liesch, and Barbara Sutter.

He is seen working as a clerk in the Kayser household (a millwright) in the 1860 census at Prairie du Sac, Sauk Co. He had a personal estate of $500 at the time. He was a grocer at the time of the 1870 census with real estate worth $3,000 and a personal estate of $1,000. The census stated that he was a citizen.

The Wisconsin information suggests that he is a son of Andrew and Mary Tarnutzer, born 1 May 1840 (as the death data from Cushing gives that birth date, obviously derived from his death registration). The birthdates and the 1848 Swiss census show rather that he is the son of Christian and Maria Tarnutzer, born 6 May 1840.
