Notes for Margreth Darnutzer
Margreth and Jacob had three children die in a three week period from diptheria while they were living at Petaluma.123 The 1900 census states that she came to the U.S. in 1879, which is clearly an error as her marriage was in 1874 and she already had three children born (and died) in California by 1880. She appears to be the Margarethe Darnitzer arriving at New York on 19 November 1869. So there was just a single digit error in recording the year of arrival on the 1900 census.

1900 U.S. census, El Dorado Co., California, r, 85, E.D. 23, p. 101B, l. 73
Notes for Jacob (Spouse 1)
There are Pfosi families from Malix in Graubünden as well as from a town in Bern. It seems reasonable to guess that Jacob may be a member of the Malix families.
Notes for Jacob & Margreth (Family)
The account by Edmund Pfosi states that they married at St. Louis, Missouri.
