Notes for Jacob Schalaben
He was born in the Fajauna district. The godparents and witnesses at his christening were Sebastian Meyer, Leonhard Disch, Nesa Thoni, Anna Sauttoris, and Zia Wincklerin.

I have not found their marriage in the Schiers records in a reasonable time interval. I did find it in the Schuders records either. Given the pattern of children they had, it should be in the 1-2 year interval before the birth of Anna.

His age at death was given as 77 years and 5 months.
Notes for Christina (Spouse 1)
She was born in the Schiers district. The godparents and witnesses at her christening were [hard to read] ______, ___ Schanser, Hans Mattis, Gretta ____, Elsa Pitscher, and Trina Truoggi.

She is listed just after Valentine Schaleben's family in the 1835 Swiss census, so presumably was part of the household. There are no spaces between families in this census so it is sometimes hard to seperate them. She was living with her daughter Luzia at the 1838 census, called Christina Schaleben in that census. Her age at death was given as 81 years, 5 months.
Notes for Jacob & Christina (Family)
Robert Schaleben says that the marriage was 16 July 1776.
