Notes for John Evarts
He was made a freeman at Concord, Massachusetts, in March 1637/8. He lived there for several years and at least two of his children were born there. He had moved to Guilford, Connecticut, by 1651/2 and took the freeman's oath on 5 February 1651/2. He purchased the allotment of John Mepham on 29 July 1651 for 21 pounds. He is named in two civil suits in 1655. He was appointed tillingman in 1667. He is supposed to have lived in New Haven for some time [between Concord and Guilford? MAH].461
