Notes for William Walbridge
He was the son of Ens. Amos Wallbridge. The marriage of William and Esther was not recorded at Brimfield. Williamd and Esther moved to Stafford, Connecticut, and were divorced there. He remarried and later returned to Wales, Massachusetts.

Gardner states that he was the first of the family to settle in Wales, Massachusetts, at a time that was not precisely known. Esther Shaw, his first wife, was supposed to be a niece of Seth Shaw of Wales. William and his wife quarreled and seperated. He moved to Stafford, Connecticut, where he got a divorce. He married there and later returned to Wales, settling at what was known as the "Walbridge place" in 1862. This was in the southwest part of the town of Wales.672
