Notes for Sophie Charbonneau
Her age is given as 58 in the 1860 census return, which would give an 1802 birthdate. The age was given as 26 on the 1850 return, indicating a circa 1824 birthdate. This is more likely in my estimation with children born in the 1843-1863 interval, for her ages in the 19-39 years range.

Sufrona, age 54, as of 1 May 1875, in the 1875 Minnesota state census.

Cole mentions a date ca 1812.707

There are a couple of Sophie and Marie-Sophie Charbonneau’s born in Varennes in the early 1820s. Patti Wilkowski found this one in St-Hyacinthe. There may be a note on the marriage for Marie Angelique for a consanginuity wavier as she would be a cousin of her husband.

I had thought she was born in Varennes on 20 May 1824.718
Medical
Died from "breach" according to the death record.
Notes for Joseph (Spouse 1)
I am not sure if he is the Joseph Leduc found in Franklin County, Vermont, at the 1840 US census.716

His family were described as paupers in the 1860 census return, which also lists his age as 54 years, an apparent error for 64.

Marilee Relf has him living at Vergennes in Addison County, Vermont, at the time of the 1850 census.717

His son Joseph Jr. settled in Belgrade Township by the 1870 census, but Joseph and Sophie were not resident there at that time. The probably were either living in Wisconsin or in the process of moving from there to Minnesota. It would be worthwhile to see when Joseph Sr first shows up in the deeds and tax rolls for Belgrade. They are present in Belgrade by the 1875 Minnesota census.
