The mainstay of the defense for the Babylon 5 Space Station as well as the Earth Alliance. I have always liked the design of these ships.
All of these pictures were created by laying the model on the bed of my scanner.
| Basic construction was straight according to the Revell-Monogram
instructions. Where I had my fun was in creating a unique-looking ship. I
call this one the "Firebird." I started with a base red, followed by gray for thruster detailing. |

I then painted the bottom guns to resemble the legs of a bird by using copper for the "legs" and gold for the guns to simulate "talons". |
| The cockpit canopy was painted in dual shades to simulate a "beak," while the upper guns were painted white to simulate "eyes." | ![]() |

Using only a minimum of the stock markings, I went on to create my "wingart" scheme for the ship. I first painted in the "feathers" with gold. Then, I added a gold center for the "fuselage" top. With that done, I went on to paint in the bird insignia that has become something of a personal emblem for me in several variants. |
| I did some minimal cockpit detailing, but the canopy obscures a lot of
it.
All in all, I like the way it turned out, especially considering that I had no idea where i was going when I started painting it. |
