USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D

This one was built for Kevin Parkison of New York

Unlike my own version of the ship, this one was built from an unlit version of the kit. After preliminary painting was completed, the decals were added. A black wash was then applied to the entire model in an effort to bring out detail. Kevin decided that he would like to have some of the windows painted to appear "lit." This effect was accomplished by applying a light blue to selected windows using a 15/0 brush.

To aid in filling the seams, I had gone ahead and assembled the entire ship prior to my initial grey base coat. After the black wash, I went back in and repainted all of the engine details and windows in an effort to give them more "life."
