Following the destruction of the Enterprise-D on Veridian III, Starfleet replaced her with the Sovereign class NCC-1701-E, arguably the most attractive incarnation of the ship.
| Unlike the version I built for Randy Petrowski, I wanted a darker look for my own model of the ship. The model was built stock and painted along the same lines that I had used on Randy's model. | ![]() |

Where the largest difference between the two versions came in was in the addition of a black wash to the entire ship in an effort to further enhance details. As you can see here, I mostly achieved my aim. |
| To aid in filling the seams, I had gone ahead and assembled the entire
ship prior to my initial white base coat. After the black wash, I went back
in and repainted all of the engine details in an effort to give them more
"life." The end result is a ship that more closely resembles the Enterprise E after her run through the "Briar Patch" from Star Trek:Insurrection. |
