USS Excalibur NCC-1711

This one started out as the Enterprise A. I went to a lot of work hand painting the panel detail(Yes, I know it's inaccurate).

Following my first build of the lit A, this one was rechristened USS Excalibur NCC-1711 based on information from one of FASA's ship recognition manuals.
In an ironic note, I had decided, back before my wife and I moved in December of '94, to scrap the much-repaired Excalibur and put her into the parts box.
My wife, citing the amount of work I did on her, convinced me not to scrap her. A plaque that was placed on the shelf in front of the ship read "SAVED FROM DECOMMISIONING 9412.27 BY AMY L. RILEY."
Shortly after moving into our new apartment back in '97, I used my computer and printer to create "Excalibur" tags to go over anywhere it may have said "Enterprise" in letters too small for me to write over by hand.
After yet another tumble from the ceiling due to high winds blowing a door open, I had to resort to bracing the nacelles with thread between them in order to keep the damaged starboard warp assembly from drooping.
If you look closely at this pic, you can see where I added the "main gangway" as described in Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise.
