This ship was done as kind of an attempt to both build a new version of the Breakstone Lake, as well as my Starblazer design from my Schematics site.
| I started with an AMT Reliant and went to work on the necessary
modifications.
Pieces were cut out of the saucer section and filled with sheet styrene, sanded to match the curves of the hull. The photon tubes were cut out of the stock pieces and then glued to the hull along with a couple of spares from my bits box. The phaser cannon were cobbled together without the roll bar and then glues to the forward section kind of like on the Defiant. A navigational deflector slot was cut into the front of the hull. As a final touch, the nacelles were inverted on their struts in an effort to turn them upright in their new position. |

The custom markings were drawn up in Corel Draw and then pronted, in
color, onto a sheet of white paper. I then took them to my local copier to
have the markings copied onto some blank decal stock. For whatever reason, the background on the decal stock turned yellow. Rather than waste the sheet, I opted to use the markings anyway. The model was given a base coat of white and then details were added in light blue, grey, and whatever other colors I thought appropriate at the time. |
