Aside from the modifications required for lighting, this one was built and painted pretty much according to the instructions(again, allowances for color were made). My only real problem with how she turned out is in trying to figure out how to light the original equipment navigational deflector. |
| While the lighting proved a challenge, the weathering was done with a
black wash over the entire model(except for the transparent pieces)
In the months since this kit was completed and this photo taken, I have solved the deflector lighting problem. Using a sanding drum in my moto-tool, I removed the excess plastic from the back of the areas where light should shine until only the vanes in the deflector remained. |
