MFS Breakstone Lake SNC-1701

When the damaged Ororo Munroe was brought into the Shi'ar docks, the decision was made to refit the ship and streamline the design.

This ship came about after the initial prototype came apart due to poor construction. My basic design called for a Reliant-style hull with the nacelles mounted on backswept struts.
In a departure from the normal Trek-style paint scheme, the model was painted blue with gold accents. All of the lettering was done with dry transfer lettering.
The hull addition was built comletely from plastruct and sheet styrene. I first built a basic frame from the plastruct, and then "skinned" it over with the styrene. As I was not an experienced "kit-basher" at the time, I tried to keep as many of the joints at 90 degrees as possible.
The struts were constructed from sheet styrene. The joints between the sheets on the struts were reinforced on the inside with ordinary scotch tape.
By placing the nacelles beside the hull, rather than above or below it, a very sleek and narrow profile was produced.
