These rugged ships have appealed to me since their debut in ST:III.
| My first attempt at the ERTL Bird of Prey. It was built and painted mostly according to the stock instructions. I had added lights for the torpedo tube and engine, but have since removed them. |  |

After removing the wiring for the lights, I opted to add some battle damage to the ship. |
| Using the technique I prefer of late. I ran a bead of model cement where I wanted the damage and then lit it with a match before it had a chance to dry. I angled the model so that the flame and smoke would travel in the direction I wanted. |  |
