This is the X-wing fighter from the Ertl Release of the Star Wars Kits.

Initially, the kit was built straight per the instructions. Some detailing
was done prior to assembly. The exterior of the kit was painted with a white
primer prior to detailling.
After assembly, the entire kit was given a black wash in an effort to both weather it and to bring out much of the detail. |

Not wanting to waste the time I spent detailing the cokpit, i attempted to remove the glass from the cockpit frame. The piece broke during the work, leaving me without the canopy. To solve this, I fashioned a canopy frame from balsa and elmers glue. It worked fairly well. |
