From Atop the Mountain

From: Drannur1
the dark elf walked from the enterence of his cave and dicented the mountain in which he lived, an came to find himself sitting on a perch about a hundred feet or so from the floor of the grove. He looked out over the grove and was the stormclouds coming, oh how he dread that day when so many of his friends would simple cease to exist..."Why? Why does this have to happen? I finally find a home and it is to be torn away from me by greedy gods"....the glow of his eyes were deadly indeed as he looks to those clouds, he sat there and reflected on those final days to come. Well at least he had come to learn that he could be trusted even loved, the hours past and he sat there a silent abserver. The bitter winds blew threw his silver hair, and stung his face but little did he care. This was his home, the only place he truly felt he belonged and yet it was soon to be gone to leave him behind without a home once more...."Am i so cursed that i shall never know a home? What did i or any ever do to deserve this?"....as the day light slips away he sat there, and pondered his fate. What would become of him with the end days drawing near, and what of his love? Why is it that ever time he finds happiness it is taken from him? Well then let fate do what it will he would still remain for even these gods could not yet be rid of him.

Finding herself alone in the cave once more, Shadowcat slips out to find Drannur. As expected, she finds him at his usual perch. He is cursing the fates that are bringing the dark storms to both Neverwinter and the Grove that has been their home.
The wind stings her face, whipping her own silver hair in time with his, threatening to topple them both into the Grove below.
"Whatever the gods have in store, Drannur," she tells him, fighting to be heard over the wind, "we shall face it together. I did not find dos only to lose dos to the capricious nature of some nameless deity."
The fire in her own eyes smolders as she looks once again to the gathering storm. She slipe her small hand around his waist in hopes of finding both physical and spiritual support in his company. She knows how hard this is for him and remembers watching two different homes fade away from her.
"Drannur," she starts slowly, "I have decided to make my home in the only place I can with any safety, and that is wherever dos may be. As long as we are together, we can weather whatever comes."
She pauses for a moment. "Remember, whatever happens, dos shall always have my love."

Turns with a start at hearing her voice..."Vendui' most beautiful dryad of mine ;> I am glad to know at least through all this i still have dos"...as she sits next to him he wraps his arms about her to keep her from the wind blowing in at them..."Truly i am glad to have found such a love and would keep dos forever near to me"...his hand dissappears into one of his belt poaches as he looks for something he was not sure of until now, he pulls something from the poach and turns back to her. The ander in his eye was gown and they glows a green that only she had before seen, during their many nights alone...."Mi'lady since dos would stay with me, i then ask dos a hard question. Would dos have me?"...he looks deeply into her eyes and presses a ring into her hand. The ring a magical combination of silver and onyx. it was a simple band nothing to fancy, but the look of it so well fit the to of them...the stripes of onyx and silver wrap around each other to form the ring...."Mi'lady take dosst time in deciding, for this is a question that's answer shall truly change what we have and could take us into the storm with a new level of love."...he drew her close and felt her head against his chest. Oh how he loved this one, even in all the times he though he'd never find love. He had found her and his life was the better for it. He could only now hope that she would say yes, and that they could life what was left of there time as one.
Hoping they won't fall when she answers ;>

She looked at him and the silver and onyx ring he offered for a long moment. Tears start to form in her almost glowing green eyes. She bites her lips as she always had when she was uncomfortable or unsure around this man. Sure enough, as he had predicted the last time she did it, her lip started to bleed slightly.
"Drannur," she started, "there is no one else I would rather have." She took the ring he offered and placed it on her finger. "I love you as I have no other and could think of no better way to face this oncoming storm than beside you."
Standing there with him, little else seemed to matter anymore. Even the harsh winds of the storm seemed to lose some of their bite in his embrace.
"I have nothing to offer you in return except my love, and that you will have till the end and beyond." She looked once more into his eyes. "I will marry you, Drannur Do'Rinn, if you will have me."

His eyes glowed with a fire not before seen, and the single tear that rolled down his cheeck sparkled indeed in their light...."Mi'lady how could i naut take dos? Dos have given that which i have rare felt, in truth at first i knew naut it i could return those feelings...but know more then ever i know i love dos.".....he held her tight, for nau winds...nau gods and nau end what take her from him now. As they stood there no wind could move them and no chill could stop the warmth there. they stood there for many more hours before returning to the cave to sleep, and what they will ;>
happy beyond words, and thats rare ;>

Shadowcat and Drannur packed their travelling things and departed the Grove in the direction of Waterdeep and Skullport.
"I hope it's still here when we get back." she noted to her soon-to-be-husband asshe looked back toward the still-gathering storm over Neverwinter.
"Dos shouldn't worry." he told her calmly. "It will be there, but only if we hurry."
With that, he shifted his clothes to the specially-designed pack he was wearing and shifted to tiger, motioning to his love to follow suit. She did, and soon two black and silver tigers were spotted on the road to Waterdeep.

"Goin' to the Chapel"

I have to admit being nervous as Drannur and I entered the area surrounding Skullport. One of the few things I hadn't told him was that I had nearly been killed by drow during my first attempt at adventuring.
"Dos needs not worry," he told me, obviously picking up on my nervousness. "Stay with me and dos shall be safe." He continued to lead me down the path into Skullport proper. The looks of disdain the other drow had for the "surface dweller" were obvious, but Drannur, to his credit, ignored them and led me to a large structure fronted by two large tigers.
"Welcome, Shadowcat," he started, "to the House Do'Rinn."
We were escorted into the house by people whose names I have forgotten in my nervousness and taken tio the elders of his house. There, Drannur told them of his intentions to make me his wife. He also informed them that he had passed the House "gift" to me as well. They looked at me with some hesitancy, noting my obvious lack of drow hertiage.
Just when it seemed as though we were to be rejected, the elder motioned the pair of us forward. He explained the unusual circumstances behind our bonding as well as the fact that he was glad Drannur had finally found someone. He nad Drannur spoke at length a little way from me. I wished Drannur had had more time to teach me more than a smattering of his language, becaus I quickly lost track of their discussion.
When they came back, Drannur calmly explained that the elder had consented to perform the ceremony as long as I promised not to disclose any details of it to the outside world. I agreed, reluctantly, and mostly out of the love I have for Drannur. We were taken back into a ceremonial chamber where the actual ceremony was to be performed.
Not being fluent in drow, Drannur had to give me most of my cues and tell me what needed to be said. What I can tell you is that it was a beautiful ceremony and, after its completion, the other elders of the house accepted me as one of their own.
Though Drannur and I would have liked to stay, we both knew we had to get back to the grove before Neverwinter met its end. We said our good-byes and left for the Dryad Grove and Neverwinter. We hoped to return in time to help stave off the end.
