Class:Mercury

The Mercury class was designed as a corvette to compliment the undergunned
Gannburke class ships.
Her primary purpose was dealing with smugglers and pirates operating along
the Federation's borders.
They were retired when the Bearclaw class came
on duty.
The USS Backlash NCC-9257 was retired and sold to the retired Admiral Mitchell
Spain of Precipice. It was given the civilian registry of NAK-9257.
The bridge module of the Backlash is actually the bridge from the retired
USS Midway NCC-2093, an uprated
Constitution class
ship.
This ship, and the resulting model of the same were the results of a friend of mine asking me what a Mercury Class Corvette would look like. My imagination got the better of me, and he got the model for a Christmas present on 9712.25
This design is a culmination of efforts by myself, Doug Burke, and Bruce Gann
