Designed as a bridge between the Excelsior and later designs, The Mutara loses the traditional "neck" in favor of a combined "saucer" and "hull" structure which increased hull integrity during warp flight.

MUTARA CLASS SCHEMATIC

This design came about when I looked at my existing Enterprise-B and did some extrapolating to turn it into an Enterprise-E style ship. This is actually about my third rendition of the design.
