When several Pegasus Class vessels experienced problems with their evacuationn systems after taking damage, it was decided that a partial redesign would be needed to resolve the problems. Combining elements of both the Pegasus and Miranda classes, the new Pegasus class ships served for many years.
This design was concieved based on my desire to rebuild its predecessor. At the request of a friend of mine, who had seen a miniature I had built like this, I opted to design the refitted Odysseus based on the Reliant, rather than the Enterprise-A.
I have since gone back and redesigned the original Odysseus, thus deciding to change the backstory of this version
