With the fleet devastation experienced at Wolf 359, as well as other new considerations, The Quasar class was born in an effort to solve several problems.
Combining elements of the Galaxy , Sovereign, and Pegasus classes, the Quasar is designed to present a sleeker warp profile, thus minimizing subspace disturbances. Using elements of the Galaxy class allowed designers to keep costs down while delivering a prototype quickly. It still took three different design studies before a prototype was delivered.
It also served as the testbed for many of the technologies that were placed into the Sovereign class ships.
The class ship, USS Quasar, has proven itself and more ships of the class may be coming soon.

QUASAR CLASS SCHEMATIC

The second of the Pegasus series to actually be designed, it was originally called Voyager. The name was changed to Questar with the announcement of the new series. It was later renamed Quasar at the suggestion of my younger brother
I redesigned the ship for better looks and ease of building the actual model.

This update of of my rough schematics was provided by Mike Brown
