The third starship to bear the name Enterprise. While a sculpture on the wall in the main briefing room of the Enterprise D led us to believe she was Excelsior class, It wasn't until Star Trek-Generations that this was proved to be true.
|This one is the Ertl Ent-B. I modified the model for lights in the nacelles and hulls. Otherwise, she was painted according to the kit instructions. My biggest disappointment was the stock base. It was so unstable that I eventually wound up running a thread from one nacelle to the bottom of the next shelf in order to stabilize the model.|
|After replacing the stock plastic base strut with one made from 3/16" plywood, I was able to get this "head-on" perspective on the ship.|
